This Privacy Policy explains how Sampark Softwares ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Smart School mobile application (the "App", package com.sampark.smartschool). The App is a school management client that lets students, parents, teachers, and staff access school-related information provided by their institution.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

The App may collect and process the following categories of information:

• Account & login information — the username, credentials, and school/user identifiers you enter to sign in. These are used to authenticate you against your school's management system.
• Profile & academic data — information made available by your school through your account, such as name, class/section, attendance, timetable, fees, marks, messages, and notices. This data is supplied and controlled by your school (the data controller); we process it on the school's behalf.
• Device & push notification data — a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token and related device identifiers used to deliver push notifications (announcements, alerts, and reminders) to your device.
• Device information — basic device and telephony state (via the READ_PHONE_STATE permission) and network connectivity status, used to operate the App reliably and for security.
• Camera, photos & files — when you choose to upload a photo or document (for example a profile picture, assignment, or attachment), the App accesses your camera, photo library, or files. The App only accesses these when you actively initiate an upload.
• Microphone — accessed only if you record or attach audio through a feature that requires it.

2. How We Use Information

• To authenticate you and provide access to your school's services.
• To display your academic and administrative information within the App.
• To send push notifications relevant to your account and school.
• To upload content you choose to submit to your school.
• To maintain security, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot technical problems.

3. Data Storage & Transmission

Login sessions and preferences are stored locally on your device (using secure on-device storage) so you do not have to sign in repeatedly. Information is transmitted over the internet to your school's management server and to Google's Firebase services to provide App functionality. We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

4. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services, which may process limited data:

• Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging & Core) — for push notifications and core app services. See Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
• Your school's management system — the backend that stores and serves your academic and administrative data, operated by or on behalf of your institution.

Content displayed inside in-app web views is served by your school's system and is subject to this policy and your school's own data practices.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with your school/institution, the third-party service providers listed above that are necessary to operate the App, and where required by law or to protect legal rights.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is used in an educational setting and may be used by or on behalf of students who are minors. Accounts are created and managed by schools and parents/guardians. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children beyond what a school provides for legitimate educational administration. If you believe a child's data has been handled improperly, contact us or your school to have it reviewed or removed.

7. Data Retention

Academic and administrative data is retained by your school for as long as your account remains active or as required by the school's policies and applicable law. Locally stored session data is removed when you log out or uninstall the App.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Because most personal and academic data is controlled by your school, please direct such requests to your institution, or contact us and we will assist in coordinating with the school.

• Internet / Network state — to communicate with school servers.
• Camera — to capture photos/documents you choose to upload.
• Photos & Files — to attach existing images or documents.
• Microphone — only for features that record audio.
• Notifications — to deliver push alerts.
• Phone state — for device identification and reliable operation.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
